Brandon Zagst is currently a Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) at Watauga Medical Center in Boone, North Carolina.  He is a certified NRA Pistol Instructor and a Cerified North Carolina Concealed Carry Firearms Instructor.  Brandon deployed as a CRNA with the 932nd Forward Surgical Team in 2003 attached as the critical medical support for the 10th Special Forces Group executing Operation Viking Hammer in Northern Iraq. 

Bill Drummond is an IPSC/USPSA Competition Shooting Winner of numerous State and Sectional Championships and is Ranked 5th in the United States and 13th in the World.  Bill will be providing guest instruction when available on proper shooting techniques.

Classes require a ten person minimum to  be taught and no more than 20 students.  If the class does not fill, you will be bumped to the next available class unless you request a refund.

Cornbread Tactical Conceal Carry Handgun (CCH) Course Registration Instructions:
Keep this section and return four items:  Course registration form, payment, copy of State Issued ID, and waiver form.
1.  Return the registration with signature at bottom of  both forms and mark the date for which you will be attending. Please remember to initial sections within the waiver form and sign where indicated.  Return both registration and waiver forms.
2.  Certified check or money order (No personal check will be accepted!!) payable to Cornbread Tactical, calculate your total on the registration form.  If you are paying by Credit Card, please register at our website, payment for rentals can be made day of course.  Register for Credit Cards:  http://www.cornbreadtactical.com
3.  A photocopy of your current State issued driver’s license or State issued ID.  You MUST BE 18 Years old to take this class!!  Contact your local sheriff for details about class certification expiration prior to turning 21.
CLASSES ARE FILLED ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS.  PLEASE CALL STORE OR CHECK WEBSITE FOR ADDITIONAL CLASS DATES.  YOU MUST CANCEL 10 DAYS PRIOR TO COURSE DATE FOR FULL REFUND.  IF CANCELED AFTER THIS DATE, YOU WILL RECEIVE CREDIT TO ANOTHER CLASS DATE----NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED.  PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT WE HAVE TO SECURE INSTRUCTORS AND ADJUST FOR THEIR SCHEDULES AND PAY.
ITEMS REQUIRED FOR CLASS:
1.  Pen or pencil for test and note taking
2.  Comfortable clothes and snacks.  Multiple restaurants are within walking distance for lunch.
3.  DO NOT BRING AMMUNITION OR HANDGUN INTO CLASS UPON ARRIVAL!!
ITEMS REQUIRED FOR RANGE:
1.  Pistol that you intend to Carry Concealed (Semi automatic or revolver) with functioning magazine that is fully operational, safe, well maintained, stored in a box or case.  Instructors may deem pistol unsafe for range.  If this occurs, the student must rent a handgun from Cornbread Tactical, LLC, or forfeit class registration.
2.  Hip holster or purse holster
3.  A minimum of 75 rounds of ammunition
4.  Eye protection that conforms to ANSI safety standards or shatter proof impact resistant prescription glasses.
5.  Ear protection (muffs or plugs).  
6.  Appropriate clothing.  High collar or jacket to deflect ejected brass.  Shoes with closed toes.  Dress for the weather.  WE WILL AND MUST SHOOT TO COMPLETE COURSE.  RAIN, SLEET, SNOW WILL NOT KEEP US FROM SHOOTING.  Unless the roads are deemed unsafe, we will have the class and shoot that day.  If unable to enter range due to road conditions, a makeup shooting time will be arranged for each student so that they may qualify.  Please understand that this course is in the Mountains of North Carolina and that weather conditions can change at a moments notice.  Also understand that it gets cold here, VERY COLD, and you will be expected to qualify to complete course.
7.  If you have forgotten something for this course, you may receive a 10% discount at our store located at 969 Rivers St., Boone, NC.  This discount does NOT include ammunition purchases.  We do have handguns for rent for this course at nominal fees. Pistols may also be purchased ahead of time with a valid Pistol Purchase permit.  Call store for details.

Range Space:  Private outdoor facilities will be used for this course
Classroom Space will be at the Watauga County Agricultural Conference Center located at 252 Poplar Grove, Boone, NC  28607.  The meeting rooms are easier to access by parking in the rear of the building on Rivers Street since the conference center is in the basement.  Expect the front doors on King Street to be locked on some weekends and entry is only allowed from Rivers Street, basement entrance.  More directions may be found at the following website----http://watauga.ces.ncsu.edu/DirectionstotheWataugaCountyCenter/
Class Times:  Please note that some class times may vary if this is a two day course or one day.  For one day courses, the class will be from 8AM-530PM.  Please arrive by 730AM.  The State of North Carolina requires an 8 hour class, including two hours of North Carolina law, and excludes range time.  Please be prompt.

Whereas, in consideration of being permitted to attend a course for instruction in firearms, for the instruction in firearms, for use of premises, and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, Undersigned agrees to the following:
Undersigned agrees to indemnity, hold harmless and deem Cornbread Tactical, LLC, it’s owners, instructors, ranges, volunteers, employees, families, teaching facilities, and Brandon S. Zagst, from any and all fault, liabilities, cost, expenses, claims, demands or lawsuits arising out of, related to, or connected with:  Undersigned’s presence at and/or participation in the course of instruction; the discharge of firearms by Undersigned; Undersigned’s presence on use of the range, buildings, land and premises (“Premises”); and, any and all acts or omissions of Undersigned present or future.  Undersigned’s participation in this training does not guarantee any certification or permit of any kind from Cornbread Tactical.  Among terms being released, are all the student’s claims of negligence, gross negligence, strict liability, demands, rights of causes of action, present or future, Deceptive Trade Practice claims, comparative indemnity and damages, whether known or unknown, anticipated or unanticipated, which my occur to the undersigned.
Undersigned furthermore waives for himself/herself and for his/her executors, personal representatives, administrators, assignees, heirs and next of kin, any and all rights and claims for damages, losses, demands and any other actions or claims whatsoever, which he/she may have or which may arise against Cornbread Tactical, LLC, or person’s named above, it’s owners, and trainers (including but not limited to the death of Undersigned and/or any and all injuries, damages or illnesses suffered by Undersigned or Undersigned’s property), which may, in any way whatsoever, arise out of, be related to or be connected with: the course of instruction; the Premises, including any latent defect in the Premises; Undersigned’s presence on or use of said Premises; Undersigned’s property (whether or not entrusted to Instructor); and, the discharge of firearms.  Instructor shall not be liable for, and Undersigned, on behalf of himself/herself and on behalf of his/her executors, personal representatives, administers, assignees, heirs and next of kin, herby expressly releases the Instructors from and all such claims and liabilities.  Undersigned herby expressly assumes the risk of taking part in the course for instruction in firearms and taking part in the activities on the Premises, which include, but are not limited to, instruction in the use of firearms, the discharge of firearms and the firing of live ammunition. The Undersigned agrees that other persons will also be loading, manipulating, and firing firearms in close proximity to him/her which the student understands is inherently dangerous and hazardous, but assumes all risks.
Undersigned herby acknowledges, and agrees that Undersigned has read this instrument and understands it’s terms and is executing this instrument voluntarily.  Undersigned furthermore herby acknowledges and agrees that he/she has read, understands and will at all times abide by all range rules and procedures and any other rules and procedures stated by the Instructors.  Undersigned expressly agrees that this instrument is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by law and that if any provision of this instrument is held invalid or otherwise unenforceable, the enforceability of the remaining provisions shall not be impaired thereby.  No remedy conferred by any of the specific provisions of this instrument is intended to be exclusive of any other remedy, and each and every remedy shall be cumulative and shall be in addition to every other remedy now or hereafter existing at law or in equity or by stature or otherwise.  The election of any one or more remedy hereunder by the Instructor shall not constitute any waiver of Instructor’s right to pursue other available remedies.  This instrument binds Undersigned and His/Her executors, personal representatives, administrators, assignees, heirs and next of kin. The Undersigned also gives irrevocable consent to and authorizes the use, publication and reproduction at any time by Instructor’s or guests, it’s successors or assigns or any and all photographs used for advertising, promotional use with or without names, editorial use, including composite or distorted representations or any other purposes whatsoever, and waive any claim or right arising out of such use, publication or reproduction, inducing any right of privacy.  
Undersigned agrees that all firearms and/or equipment furnished by themselves for use during instruction are safely operable, in excellent condition, free of all defects, conform with all laws, and are in legal possession by the Undersigned. Signing of this form is voluntary.  This training is available elsewhere and is not an “essential service”.  However, registration acceptance is dependent on signature.  The Undersigned agrees that he/she is twenty one years of age or older, legally competent to handle a firearm, is legally competent, physically and mentally capable, not limited by a court order, and is not under any mind altering substances.  The undersigned agrees to the following four rules by Initialing:  1.  Treat all firearms as if they are loaded.______2.  Never point your muzzle at anything you don’t wish to destroy.______3.  Never put your finger on the trigger of the firearm until the sights are on target and you are ready to fire._____4.  Always be sure of your target and backstop before firing.___________.
